Go North

I used to live in the heart of the city
I left last July when the air got gritty
I went down stoop and I put on my good walking shoes
I took a step to the intersection, the time had come to choose a direction
Took a turn and I set out on my way
Go North go North go North my soul
Spit and rage and lose control
I know you and you are not this
I reached the city limits in no time flat
Thought I’d keep going, see where the action was at
The sun was warm and my feet were feeling fine
Out in the ‘burbs some friendly smiles
It all looked the same for miles and miles
So many lies, but none of these were mine
Go North go North go North my friend
Follow that road round the bend
There’s only one way down and you know how this ends
I came to the woods on the 19th night
I took a look around and I felt a bit of fright
The sounds and shapes surrounding unfamiliar
The woods thinned out as I came to the snow
My feet so tired and my spirits were low
But looking back there was only one way to go
Go North go North go North my soul
Spit and rage and lose control
I know you and you are not this
Go North go North go North my friend
Follow that road round the bend
There’s only one way down and you know how this ends
Out in the tundra I found me a village
Far from the city’s toxic illage
The natives wondered to see one like me there
A brief stay ‘fore I continued on
I strode off into subarctic dawn
I’d like to rest but I must be on my way
Go North go North go North my soul
Spit and rage and lose control
I know you and you are not this
Go North go North go North my friend
Follow that road round the bend
There’s only one way down and you know how this ends

Out of Time
04:00

It's over, I've finally got you
The moment of truth has arrived
Think fast, duck and cover, there's noone to protect you
For you see I have been in hot pursuit
From Alaska straight down to Belize
And though your skills are impressive, my patience has won out
You thought you could run forever
But now, you've run out of luck
In the end we're all running out of time
I must say this is very exciting
I'm quaking from my head to my feet
This moment heavy with the full realization of great anticipation
You know we're not so different, you and I, two sides of a coin
But where you've failed I'll succeed
The fates have smiled my way
You thought you could run forever
But now, you've run out of luck
Don't feel bad, in the end we're all running out of time
You put up a damn good chase
A very good sport
In the end we're all running out of time
You thought you could run forever
But now, you've run out of luck
Don't feel bad, in the end we're all running out of time
You put up a damn good chase
A very good sport
In the end we're all running out of time

Thing About the Woods
04:38
|
|||
Well I been in the woods for 10 long years
I was cast out for my lies, didn't shed no tears
Well I can't sing a line, but still I'm here
So you'll just have to sit back while I steer
Thing about the woods, you might never come back again
And even if you do, you ain't gonna return the same man
Thing about the woods, you might never come back again
And even if you do, you ain't gonna return the same man
For 10 years, I've been blaming all I see
But the only one who can deprive is me
Snow begins to fall, taste bitter steel
'Cause I know that you can't know just how I feel
Thing about the woods, you might never come back again
And even if you do, you ain't gonna return the same man
Thing about the woods, you might never come back again
And even if you do, you ain't gonna return the same man
My smile is bright, my blood is warm, but soil
If I linger too long, it begins to boil
The redtail taught me how to speak her name
And as I change I have changed, I can change
And as I change I have changed, I can change
Thing about the woods, you might never come back again
And even if you do, you ain't gonna return the same man
Thing about the woods, you might never come back again
And even if you do, you ain't gonna return the same man

The Jungle
06:21
|

The Jungle was pitch black as Aeflak struggled through the bushes
The placid scene of the beach was far behind him as he bumbled onward through the brambles
The thought of shelter that he sought was quickly dashed and he felt a touch of dread
And turning round he quickly realized that he had no idea how to return from whence he came
It seems you've made a big mistake, can you make it through this night?
The jungle's got its eyes on you, can you make it to the light?
Nocturnal whispers filled his ears as the mud filled the space within his shoes
That morning he'd been safe in bed, it didn't seem like he had that much to lose
Now he was afraid, his frantic breathing outpaced the beating of his heart
And snot dribbled from his nose as he understood that this could be the night that he had feared for his whole life
It seems you've made a big mistake, can you make it through this night?
The jungle's got its eyes on you, can you make it to the light?
The twisted cavalclade assaulted all his senses spawning paniced frantic flailing
He took off sprinting through the leaves and thorns, they slashed against his face and his hands
His world was spinning he fell to his knees but crept onward in a crawl
Til down the slipping slope he slid and he was swallowed by the darkness and the end was but a dream
It seems you've made a big mistake, you won't make it through this night
The jungle's got its teeth in you, you won't make it to the light
It seems you've made a big mistake, you won't make it through this night
The jungle's got its teeth in you, you won't make it to the light
